Distance Learning Network

The Junction is a full-motion, interactive communications network. Using state-of-the-art technology, The Junction affords a full range of educational and instructional opportunities. Through simultaneous broadcast to numerous locations, students and staff at locations across the region are linked in a dynamic learning environment. Communication is multi-way, opening new dimensions for dialogue, education equity and opportunity.

For Students

• Enrollment in courses not available at the home school, from languages and sciences to advanced college placement and college level courses
• An interactive window to the world
• Cultural programs and arts-related experiences
• Participation without dislocation for the disabled and physically challenged
• Interaction and discussion with students from various geographic locations, settings and cultures

For Staff

• Inter-district teleconferences, workshops, and interactive meetings
• Employment of new technologies and creative instructional methods to complement classroom instruction and stimulate the development of critical thought processes
