SUMMARY:The PBL Design Studio: Launching Authentic Projects with Generative AI
DESCRIPTION:While Project-Based Learning (PBL) yields exceptional student engagement\, the extensive upfront planning required’97such as mapping out real-world scenarios\, structuring scaffolding milestones\, and authoring multi-tiered rubrics’97can overwhelm an educator’s schedule. This 3-hour\, hands-on in-person masterclass teaches educators how to leverage generative AI platforms (such as Google Gemini or Microsoft Copilot) as professional instructional design assistants to streamline the complete PBL unit lifecycle. Participants will master cross-platform prompt engineering frameworks to generate authentic\, standard-aligned project scenarios\, establish student pacing timelines\, build collaborative choice boards\, and construct detailed criteria rubrics. The workshop features an active development lab where teachers will engineer\, refine\, and compile a complete\, ready-to-deploy PBL unit tailored to their classroom needs.
