Wellness Day Supports Student Growth, Well-Being at LoGuidice

The LoGuidice Educational Center recently held its third annual Wellness Day, an event designed to support the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of students in Career & Technical Education.

Coordinated by LoGuidice School Counselor Alycia Lacki, the event was offered to both juniors and seniors and continues a biannual tradition held each fall and spring.

Nearly 300 students through Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES participated in the day’s activities, rotating through three workshops of their choice from a lineup of engaging and restorative options. Workshop selections included Martial Arts, Drum Circles, Spa Day, Arts & Crafts, Board Games, a Sip & Stroll nature walk with tea, and an energizing Move & Motivate session led by inspirational speaker and trainer Brad Barmore.

After completing their rotations, the CTE students gathered for a culminating reflection session in the large group room. Mrs. Lacki and Mr. Barmore shared inspirational messages, encouraging students to reflect on what wellness truly means and how intentional self-care can positively influence their daily lives and future careers.

“You all are here to further develop your professional skills in CTE, but what’s just as important is your personal development. We can’t serve from an empty cup,” Mrs. Lacki reminded the group.

Mr. Barmore also shared personal stories of growth, urging students to prioritize themselves, chase their dreams, and “prove yourself right.”

The message left a lasting impact as participants reflected on how prioritizing their well-being can enhance their achievements, relationships, and future opportunities. This year’s Wellness Day continued LoGuidice’s tradition of helping young people build skills for a balanced, healthy, and purposeful life.
