The New York State Education Department’s Office of Special Education has released its Spring newsletter, designed to help parents, families and educators stay informed, empowered and connected.
The newsletter includes helpful updates and resources, such as:

Felix, of Fredonia, graduated on May 16 from the Mechanical Technology program with a specialization in Machine Tools. He was recognized by Mark Ward, chair of JCC’s Board of Trustees, during the college’s recent commencement ceremony.

More than a dozen juniors and seniors in the Health Careers program at the LoGuidice Educational Center helped bring some Bear Care to the Health and Wellness Fair held Thursday at Dunkirk Intermediate School. 🧸🩺🏫
Working alongside instructor Melissa Seelbinder, the Career & Technical Education students helped coordinate a Teddy Bear Clinic, where children were invited to bring their favorite stuffed animals for a “check-up."
For those who didn’t have one, teddy bears were provided at no cost so every child could participate. The event also featured additional health and wellness activities, including free lead testing and access to community resources.

Juniors and seniors in the Construction Technology program at the Hewes Educational Center are helping celebrate the near completion of the 2025–26 school year in a creative way. 🔨💡
Students designed and built an illuminated wooden “26” display featuring 22 bulbs to mark the end of the academic year.
Pictured are Construction Technology instructor Brennan Morrison with Falconer juniors Dominic Pangborn and Blake Berlin, who helped complete the project.
The Hewes Educational Center will hold its Senior Awards Night on June 3 at Panama Central School and its Senior Recognition Ceremony on June 11 at Chautauqua Institution.

Welding/Metal Fabrication instructor Charles Harding and several students from the Ormsby Educational Center recently attended the Western New York Armed Forces Week Committee Military and Civilian Luncheon.
Held at the Connecticut Street Armory in Buffalo, the event provided students interested in military service with a valuable opportunity to connect with members of the armed forces and local community leaders.
E2CCB partnered with East Aurora Union Free School District and the Western New York Armed Forces Week Committee to bring Career & Technical Education students to this special event and help expose them to future career and service opportunities.
