Spring is here and so is testing season. A few of you are in the midst of CBT (April 7th-May 23rd) and NYSAA (March 10-June 6th), while others are gearing up for STAR (May 12th-30th) and all while our CTE friends are off on internships and starting end of year Precision testing. Two pieces of advice to keep in mind during the stress and take it for what it is: Focus on the process of learning, and celebrate small victories along the way. Help center students in believing in their abilities, embrace challenges, and remembering that learning is a journey, not a destination.Â
If you haven’t been playing around in MagicSchool AI, I highly encourage it. It will gain you HOURS back in planning. My second obsession lately is IXL’s Spark Studio. AI uses IXL data taking it one step further to create lessons, exit tickets, rubrics, unpacking standards, adjusting reading levels, creating worksheets, you name it.
On a personal note: I truly appreciate all of you welcoming me into your classrooms on a daily basis to either co-teach, dive into data, have a good chat about pedagogy or to have fun with our students (playing trains/cars, reading books, sensory moments I could help out in, cooking, etc) Yes, I am laughing at the cooking. I need to hang out more in those classes 🙂 Thank you for all you do for our students. You do make a difference.
