Shining Bright: Ormsby Students Join National Technical Honor Society

Nineteen Career & Technical Education students from the Ormsby Educational Center were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), recognizing their outstanding academic performance, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

The induction ceremony took place on Thursday, Nov. 6, at East Aurora High School, bringing together family members, friends, and staff from Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES to celebrate the achievements of the high-performing students.

Paul Hoch, NTHS advisor at Ormsby, said the annual event serves as both a celebration of student success and a reminder of the values that guide the society.

“This ceremony is a way to showcase our brilliant students while highlighting the core values of the National Technical Honor Society,” Hoch said. “To put this into perspective, we have 19 students here today out of approximately 250 in the senior class. They’ve earned this honor.”

To qualify for induction, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 90 or higher during their junior year, demonstrate outstanding attendance, submit letters of recommendation, and participate in community service projects.

Hoch said the 2025 inductees exemplify the qualities that define excellence in technical education.

“I look forward to seeing your continued success in the future as you move forward with life and career choices,” he said. “You’ll continue to grow in many ways, and while making mistakes along the way, learn from them. Continue to prosper, and don’t forget what got you here. Keep being who you are.”
