Classrooms across New York came together this week for a live holiday sing-along hosted by the New York State Distance Learning Consortium, with musical participation from the Manhattan School of Music.
As a member of the NYS Distance Learning Consortium, Erie 2 Chautauqua Cattaraugus BOCES was proud to take part in this shared experience, which allowed students to connect, sing, and celebrate the season together in real time without leaving their classrooms.
The event featured familiar holiday favorites alongside student performances from participating schools, creating a joyful and inclusive experience for learners across regions. Using video conferencing and interactive technology, students were able to engage directly with professional musicians and peers from other districts.
Special thanks to Elizabeth Huson, Distance Learning Specialist, for her role in helping organize and facilitate the event, as well as to the NYS Distance Learning Consortium and the Manhattan School of Music for making this opportunity possible.
This sing-along highlights the power of distance learning to expand access, remove geographic barriers, and deliver high quality, interactive experiences to students. Through E2CCB Distance Learning, schools can connect learners to arts, science, cultural programs, and unique events that enhance classroom instruction.
