On Tuesday, the Carrier Educational Center hosted its annual Family Fun Night! 🎄🏫🌝
Families and community members enjoyed board and computer games, arts and crafts, a winter basket raffle, and even got to decorate Christmas-themed sugar cookies.
Guests also had the opportunity to meet instructors and tour a handful of Career & Technical Education classrooms. Carrier staff and student ambassadors helped welcome visitors and keep the evening running smoothly.

Last week students held the first annual Hewes Educational Center Thanksgiving Day parade complete with favorites like Bluey, Spider-Man & Stitch! What a creative way to celebrate the season. WNY P-TECH in Dunkirk recently celebrated Penny Lane, a 1½-year-old Mini Goldendoodle–Dachshund mix who just earned her certification as a therapy dog! 🐕🦺🐾❤️
Trained through Shaylah’s Canine Commands in Forestville, Penny Lane will visit the school as needed to support students and staff.

Seniors in the Culinary Arts program at the Hewes Educational Center recently welcomed New York State Sen. George Borrello for a special visit! 🧑🍳🍽️👩🍳
Sen. Borrello shared how working in restaurants can open doors to a wide range of careers and spoke about his own experience as a restaurant owner and the challenges that come with it.
He then joined the Career & Technical Education students for a delicious meal prepared under the guidance of Culinary Arts instructor Burke Lindquist.

Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus is observing Inclusive Schools Week from December 8-12, 2025. The 2025 theme is “Children First: Building a Stronger Tomorrow.”
We are highlighting and recognizing the progress our schools have made in implementing inclusive practices to ensure a quality education for an increasingly diverse student population.
It’s also an opportunity for educators, students, and parents to reflect on what else needs to be done in order to ensure our schools continue to improve their ability to successfully educate all children.
Thanks to the hard work and commitment of teachers, administrators, students, and parents, our schools are more inclusive, and, therefore, significantly contribute to the development of a more inclusive society.

Students in the Criminal Justice and Health Careers programs at the Ormsby Educational Center recently heard from Robert Yeates, a retired officer with the Buffalo Police Department and current investigator with the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. 👮♂️👩⚕️🏫
Yeates shared insights from his nearly 30-year career in law enforcement, including how a critical incident in 2012 shaped his professional path and the message he now brings to police recruits and college audiences. His visit offered Career & Technical Education students a candid look at the realities and responsibilities of the field.

The LoGuidice Educational Center recently held its third annual Wellness Day, providing Career & Technical Education students with an opportunity to focus on their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. 🧘🎨🥁🥋
Coordinated by School Counselor Alycia Lacki, the event brought nearly 300 juniors and seniors together for hands-on workshops ranging from martial arts and drum circles to yoga and arts and crafts.
Students concluded the day with a reflection led by Mrs. Lacki and guest speaker Brad Barmore, focusing on practical ways to incorporate wellness into their daily routines.
