Students from Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES’ Chautauqua Lake site recently enjoyed a festive fall field trip to Harvest View Greenhouses in Fredonia — an experience that combined hands-on learning, social connection, and seasonal celebration.
Special Education Teacher Christine Barber, who has been with E2CCB for more than 17 years, said the visit has become a beloved annual tradition for students and staff alike. “We like to bring them so that they get to do something outside the school, which is fun, and they get to socialize with other kids in different classrooms,” she said. “Harvest View is very accommodating to us. They do a great job, and it’s a field trip that everybody looks forward to every year.”
The outing offered students of all abilities a chance to explore the greenhouse’s festive atmosphere, enjoy seasonal activities, and connect with their peers in a spacious, inclusive environment. “It’s big enough that we’re not crowded,” Barber added. “There’s plenty of room to move around, and everyone just seems to have a great time.”
Thank you, Harvetview, for providing a great opportunity for our students!
