A $1.09 million USDA grant is helping transform career training across Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES.
New industry-grade simulators and distance learning technology are giving CTE and P-TECH students hands-on experiences in fields such as nursing, welding, heavy equipment, logistics, law enforcement, and more. Recently, USDA Rural Development State Director Richard Mayfield visited our Ormsby Educational Center to see the impact of this investment firsthand.

Educators from across E2CCB’s component districts gathered at the Carrier Educational Center on June 16 for the Science of Reading End-of-Year Celebration Fair.
Participants created table displays highlighting how they are bringing evidence-based literacy practices into their classrooms and districts, then rotated throughout the fair to explore resources, see strategies in action and learn from one another.
The event offered a valuable opportunity for educators to showcase their work, exchange ideas and bring new approaches back to their students and colleagues.
The professional learning continues July 13–14 as the E2CCB Science of Reading team hosts its two-day Science of Reading Symposium at the Carrier and LoGuidice educational centers, featuring Angie Hanlin.
