Tier I – Collaborative & Regional Applications

Provides information on funding opportunities, 10 hours of grant writing assistance, and access to our grant writing team for consultation. Direct grant-writing assistance can also be requested at actual cost.
There’s some extra excitement in the Small Animal Science program at the Hewes Educational Center, where a newborn lamb and about a dozen baby chicks are getting plenty of attention! 🐣🐑
For the second year in a row, Career & Technical Education students have experienced the hatching process firsthand under the guidance of instructor Seth Shields and teaching assistant Alexandria Smith. Students observed incubator conditions that support successful hatching, carefully regulated temperature and humidity, and automated egg turning.
Juniors and seniors also got an up-close look at egg candling, where a bright light is used to view a developing embryo inside the egg.

🍽️👨🍳 Earlier this week, Culinary Arts students at the Carrier Educational Center welcomed Chef Jacob Rhodes, instructor and recruiter from the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute through SUNY Niagara.
Chef Rhodes shared insights on culinary career pathways, including certificates, associate degrees, and the journey to becoming a Certified Master Chef. He also highlighted scholarship opportunities and program options in culinary, baking, and hospitality.
Afterward, the Career & Technical Education students got hands-on with a fun boba-making demo, exploring the science behind the chewy tapioca pearls that make the popular drink so unique!
