WNY P-TECH once again welcomed new and returning students to its annual Summer Bridge program through Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES! ☀️
The popular weeklong summer program gives students a chance to explore different pathways while building connections through hands-on activities.
As part of the week, nearly 30 students traveled to Peek’n Peak Resort and Point Gratiot Park in Dunkirk for a day of outdoor fun and adventure. At Peek’n Peak, students took on the Aerial Adventure Course, Giant Zipline, and a round of mini golf. Several faculty and staff joined students for the day, too.
Thanks to everyone who helped make Summer Bridge a success. We can’t wait to see everyone soon! ☀️

A $1.09 million USDA grant is helping transform career training across Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES.
New industry-grade simulators and distance learning technology are giving CTE and P-TECH students hands-on experiences in fields such as nursing, welding, heavy equipment, logistics, law enforcement, and more. Recently, USDA Rural Development State Director Richard Mayfield visited our Ormsby Educational Center to see the impact of this investment firsthand.

Arts education is about more than creativity. It builds confidence, empathy and a sense of belonging.
During a panel discussion at Chautauqua Institution, Samantha Cashmore of the Hewes Educational Center and Nikki Kane of Southwestern Central School shared how arts programs like Feelin` the Beat and the Young Playwrights Project are helping students with diverse needs find their voices, express themselves and discover new possibilities.
