On Wednesday, seniors in Gerald O’Brien’s Criminal Justice class at the Ormsby Educational Center had an exciting visit from John Payne, who teaches courses in forensic science/crime scene investigation at Hilbert College. 👮♀️🚨👮♂️
Payne, a former detective and Major Crimes Investigator with the Town of Orchard Park Police Department, shared real cases to demonstrate CSI processes and gave the Career & Technical Education students an inside look at careers in law enforcement. He also explained the benefits for students who continue their studies in Criminal Justice at Hilbert College.
A big thank you to Payne for sharing his expertise and giving our students valuable insights into the world of law enforcement! 👏✨

E2CCB at Chautauqua Lake partnered with the Chautauqua County Sheriff`s Office to help several middle and high school students aged 18 and under obtain their S.A.F.E. identification cards. This service is offered through the New York State Sheriffs` Association Operation Safe Child program.
These NYS-approved ID cards are an important resource for our students and can be used as a form of Identification when needed.
Attached is a photo of one of our students with his aide and Deputy Jake Dietzel. Thank you to the Sheriff`s Office for supporting our students and helping make this process easy and accessible. 🧡📸

We had an amazing time at our first annual Hewes Talent Show on November 12th. The stage was filled with singing, dancing, keyboard performances, and so many other incredible talents from both our students and staff.
The energy was joyful, the kids were proud, and the entire afternoon was filled with smiles. This is definitely an event we will remember and one we plan to continue for years to come.
Special thanks to Karen Hummel and middle school student Trenton Bedford for capturing the day with their photos. 🎤✨
