This two-day event is designed to empower and celebrate women in educational leadership through meaningful networking, honest conversations and sessions focused on confidence, strengths and leadership development. Last yearโs event brought together more than 100 educators from across New York state for immersive sessions, storytelling and action-driven conversations centered on supporting and elevating women in leadership.

Almost two dozen freshmen from WNY P-TECH recently got an up-close look at careers in advanced manufacturing during a tour of the Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant. Students also visited the Manufacturing Technology Institute (MTI) at SUNY JCC to experience their future college pathway site.
The tours were made possible through a collaboration between Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES, Cummins, SUNY JCC, and Dream It Do It Western New York.

Earlier this week, instructor Holly Lemke and students in the Small Animal Science program at LoGuidice had the opportunity to visit the National Equine Institute of Growth through Healing (N.E.I.G.H.) on Maple Grove Road in Bemus Point. ๐ด๐โค๏ธ
During the visit, Career & Technical Education students explored the powerful impact of equine-assisted therapy through a variety of hands-on experiences, including medicating, weighing, grooming, and handling horses.
A special thank you to Dawn and Taylor Samuelson for being such welcoming hosts and for sharing their time, knowledge, and hospitality with our students. It was a meaningful and unforgettable experience for everyone involved!

Students involved in STEP Club at WNY P-TECH recently toured the South & Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts wastewater treatment plant to learn more about environmental science, infrastructure, and careers in STEM fields. ๐ง๐ฌ
Led by Tom Walsh, the tour gave students an inside look at how the facility serves more than 5,000 customers and removes millions of pounds of pollutants each year, helping protect Chautauqua Lake and the surrounding community.
The Fredonia STEP program helps prepare students for future success in science, technology, and health-related fields, as well as college pathways.

Students in the Automotive Body Repair program at the Ormsby Educational Center recently got an up-close look at the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. ๐๐งโ๏ธ
Alongside instructor Richard Drewery, Career & Technical Education seniors rode an NFTA-Metro bus and toured the organizationโs Cold Spring Bus Garage in Buffalo.
The visit gave students the opportunity to explore potential employment and internship opportunities while seeing firsthand how technicians perform similar tasks in the field, the equipment they use, and the career advancement opportunities available within the industry.
Thank you to the NFTA for providing our students with this valuable hands-on learning experience!

WNY P-TECH student Felix Manzella, pictured fourth from right, was recognized as one of only a handful of students to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA at SUNY JCC! ๐๐๐
Felix, of Fredonia, graduated on May 16 from the Mechanical Technology program with a specialization in Machine Tools. He was recognized by Mark Ward, chair of JCCโs Board of Trustees, during the collegeโs recent commencement ceremony.

More than a dozen juniors and seniors in the Health Careers program at the LoGuidice Educational Center helped bring some Bear Care to the Health and Wellness Fair held Thursday at Dunkirk Intermediate School. ๐งธ๐ฉบ๐ซ
Working alongside instructor Melissa Seelbinder, the Career & Technical Education students helped coordinate a Teddy Bear Clinic, where children were invited to bring their favorite stuffed animals for a โcheck-up."
For those who didnโt have one, teddy bears were provided at no cost so every child could participate. The event also featured additional health and wellness activities, including free lead testing and access to community resources.
